2 Und da das Jerobeam3379 hörete, der Sohn1121 Nebats5028, der in Ägypten4714 war, dahin er3379 vor6440 dem Könige4428 Salomo8010 geflohen1272 war, kam8085 er wieder7725 aus Ägypten4714.

2 And it came1961 to pass, when Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat,5028 who1931 was in Egypt,4714 where834 he fled1272 from the presence6440 of Solomon8010 the king,4428 heard8085 it, that Jeroboam3379 returned7725 out of Egypt.4714

3 Und sie7121 sandten7971 hin und ließen ihn rufen. Und Jerobeam3379 kam935 mit dem ganzen Israel3478 und redete1696 mit Rehabeam7346 und sprachen559:

3 And they sent7971 and called7121 him. So Jeroboam3379 and all3605 Israel3478 came935 and spoke1696 to Rehoboam,7346 saying,559

4 Dein Vater1 hat unser Joch5923 zu hart7185 gemacht. So leichtere nun du den harten Dienst5656 deines Vaters1 und5647 das schwere7186 Joch5923, das er5414 auf uns gelegt hat, so wollen wir dir untertänig sein7043.

4 Your father25 made our yoke5923 grievous:7185 now6258 therefore ease7043 you somewhat the grievous7186 servitude5656 of your father,25 and his heavy3515 yoke5923 that he put5414 on us, and we will serve5647 you.

5 Er sprach559 zu ihnen: Über drei7969 Tage3117 kommt wieder7725 zu mir. Und das Volk5971 ging hin3212.

5 And he said559 to them, Come7725 again7725 to me after three7969 days.3117 And the people5971 departed.3212

6 Und der König4428 Rehabeam7346 ratfragte3289 die Ältesten2205, die vor6440 seinem Vater1 Salomo8010 gestanden5975 waren, da7725 er beim Leben2416 war3289, und sprach559: Wie349 ratet ihr, daß ich diesem Volk5971 Antwort gebe1697?

6 And king4428 Rehoboam7346 took counsel3289 with the old2205 men that had1961 stood5975 before6440 Solomon8010 his father25 while he yet lived,2416 saying,559 What349 counsel3289 give you me to return7725 answer1697 to this2088 people?5971

7 Sie559 redeten mit1697 ihm und5650 sprachen1696: Wirst du diesem Volk5971 freundlich2896 sein7521 und wirst sie handeln gütiglich und ihnen gute2896 Worte1696 geben3117, so werden sie dir untertänig sein allewege.

7 And they spoke1696 to him, saying,559 If518 you be kind2896 to this2088 people,5971 and please7521 them, and speak1696 good2896 words1697 to them, they will be your servants5650 for ever.3605 3117

8 Er aber verließ den Rat6098 der Ältesten2205, den sie5800 ihm gegeben hatten3289, und5975 ratschlagte mit den Jungen3206, die mit ihm aufgewachsen waren1431 und vor6440 ihm stunden,

8 But he forsook5800 the counsel6098 which834 the old2205 men gave3289 him, and took counsel3289 with the young3206 men that were brought1431 up with him, that stood before6440 him.

9 und559 sprach559 zu ihnen7725: Was ratet ihr, daß wir diesem Volk5971 antworten, die mit mir geredet haben und7043 sagen1696: Leichtere das1697 Joch5923, das dein Vater1 auf uns gelegt hat3289?

9 And he said559 to them, What4100 advice3289 give you that we may return7725 answer1697 to this2088 people,5971 which834 have spoken1696 to me, saying,559 Ease7043 somewhat the yoke5923 that your father25 did put5414 on us?

10 Die Jungen3206 aber, die mit ihm aufgewachsen waren, redeten mit ihm und sprachen1696: So sollst du559 sagen559 zu dem Volk5971, das mit dir geredet hat1696 und spricht: Dein Vater1 hat7043 unser Joch5923 zu schwer gemacht3513, mache du559 unser Joch leichter; und sprich559 zu ihnen: Mein kleinster6995 Finger soll dicker sein1431 denn meines Vaters1 Lenden4975.

10 And the young3206 men that were brought1431 up with him spoke1696 to him, saying,559 Thus3541 shall you answer559 the people5971 that spoke1696 to you, saying,559 Your father25 made our yoke5923 heavy,3513 but make you it somewhat lighter7043 for us; thus3541 shall you say559 to them, My little6996 finger shall be thicker5666 than my father's1 loins.4975

11 Hat nun6258 mein Vater1 auf euch6006 zu schweres3515 Joch5923 geladen, so will ich eures Jochs mehr3254 machen. Mein Vater1 hat euch mit Peitschen7752 gezüchtiget, ich aber mit Skorpionen6137.

11 For whereas6258 my father25 put6006 a heavy3515 yoke5923 on you, I will put3254 more3254 to your yoke:5923 my father25 chastised3256 you with whips,7752 but I will chastise you with scorpions.6137

12 Als nun Jerobeam3379 und alles Volk5971 zu Rehabeam7346 kam935 am dritten7992 Tage3117, wie denn der König4428 gesagt559 hatte1696: Kommt wieder7725 zu mir am dritten7992 Tage3117,

12 So Jeroboam3379 and all3605 the people5971 came935 to Rehoboam7346 on the third7992 day,3117 as the king4428 bade,1696 saying,559 Come7725 again7725 to me on the third7992 day.3117

13 antwortete6030 ihnen der König4428 hart7186. Und der König4428 Rehabeam7346 verließ5800 den Rat6098 der Ältesten2205
|
13 And the king4428 answered6030 them roughly;7186 and king4428 Rehoboam7346 forsook5800 the counsel6098 of the old2205 men,

14 und redete1696 mit ihnen nach dem Rat6098 der Jungen3206 und sprach559: Hat mein Vater1 euer Joch5923 zu schwer gemacht3513, so will ich‘s mehr3254 dazu machen. Mein Vater1 hat euch mit Peitschen7752 gezüchtiget, ich aber mit Skorpionen6137.

14 And answered1697 them after the advice6098 of the young3206 men, saying,559 My father25 made your yoke5923 heavy,3513 but I will add3254 thereto:5921 my father25 chastised3256 you with whips,7752 but I will chastise you with scorpions.6137

15 Also gehorchte8085 der König4428 dem Volk5971 nicht. Denn es war also von3027 GOtt430 gewandt5252, auf6965 daß der HErr3068 sein Wort1697 bestätigte, daß er geredet hatte1696 durch Ahia281 von Silo7888 zu Jerobeam3379, dem Sohn1121 Nebats5028.

15 So the king4428 listened8085 not to the people:5971 for the cause5252 was of God,430 that the LORD3068 might perform6965 his word,1697 which834 he spoke1696 by the hand3027 of Ahijah281 the Shilonite7888 to Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat.5028

16 Da aber das ganze Israel3478 sah7200, daß ihnen7725 der König4428 nicht gehorchte8085, antwortete das Volk5971 dem Könige4428 und2506 sprach559: Was haben wir Teils an7200 David1732 oder Erbe5159 am Sohn1121 Isais3448? Jedermann von Israel3478 zu seiner Hütte168! So siehe nun du zu deinem Hause1004, David1732! Und376 das ganze Israel3478 ging3212 in seine Hütten168,

16 And when all3605 Israel3478 saw7200 that the king4428 would not listen8085 to them, the people5971 answered7725 the king,4428 saying,559 What4100 portion2506 have we in David?1732 and we have none3808 inheritance5159 in the son1121 of Jesse:3448 every man376 to your tents,168 O Israel:3478 and now,6258 David,1732 see7200 to your own house.1004 So all3605 Israel3478 went3212 to their tents.168

17 daß Rehabeam7346 nur über die3427 Kinder1121 Israel3478 regierete, die in den Städten5892 Judas wohneten.

17 But as for the children1121 of Israel3478 that dwelled3427 in the cities5892 of Judah,3063 Rehoboam7346 reigned4427 over5921 them.

|
18 Aber der König4428 Rehabeam7346 sandte7971 Hadoram1913, den Rentmeister4522; aber die Kinder1121 Israel3478 steinigten7275 ihn zu Tode4191. Und68 der König4428 Rehabeam7346 stieg frisch553 auf5927 seinen Wagen4818, daß er flöhe5127 gen Jerusalem3389.

18 Then king4428 Rehoboam7346 sent7971 Hadoram1913 that was over5921 the tribute;4522 and the children1121 of Israel3478 stoned7275 him with stones,68 that he died.4191 But king4428 Rehoboam7346 made speed553 to get5927 him up to his chariot,4818 to flee5127 to Jerusalem.3389
